The camera was on the whole time
She thought she had left the meeting. She had left the tab.
She says goodbye, waves, and closes the laptop lid halfway, which is how she learns that halfway is not closed. The meeting continues in a small window nobody is watching except everyone. She eats lunch. She talks to a cat. She reviews her own performance out loud, generously. Then she says something about the agenda that the person who wrote the agenda is still hearing in their sleep. The senior person on the call unmutes and says, gently, we can still see you. The video freezes on her face in the exact half second she understands. That frame has been screenshotted. It lives in a group chat now, where it will outlast all of us.
