First there is the team channel, which is where the work happens. Then there is the group chat, which is where the truth happens. Then someone creates a third chat, which is the group chat minus one person, and the naming is unwise. The one person finds out the way people always find out, from a screenshot sent to the wrong window by someone typing too fast on a Friday. Nobody apologizes properly. Instead all three chats go completely silent for four days, which on this team is the equivalent of a national mourning period. The chats come back. The jokes do not. Now everything gets said in the channel where the work happens, in a tone that is technically friendly.
